SJS Group Unveils Digital Burlesque: to include two of New York City’s most popular Artists and Producers
With club acts on pause, the brains behind Singapore’s most innovative entertainment venue, LuLu’s Lounge, are finding a way to get their signature entertainment into your living rooms via Digital Burlesque. With the popularity of virtual cocktail parties, game nights, and digital celebrations, Digital Burlesque offers creative entertainment to any occasion via a simple dial-in from the top performers across the globe. Guests simply have to book their act for a specific time and day, and the performers will dial in for your occasion. Maybe you want to surprise someone. Maybe you want to turn a regular virtual cocktail party into something more. Or maybe you have a creative itch.
“While typically premier acts from around the world would cost thousands of dollars to bring over for a performance, the digital landscape allows for them to simply dial in and curate a performance specifically for you, at a fraction of the cost.” Joshua Schwartz, Co-Founder, SJS Group
The acts include popular New York City artists and producers Calamity Chang, named Top 100 Burlesque Performers in the World and producer of the world’s only NEW YORK ASIAN BURLESQUE EXTRAVAGANZA, Gin Minksy, a member of the Burlesque Hall of Fame, sword swallower, and tap dancer, and Becca d’ Bus, Singapore’s premier Drag Queen Act and host of RIOT!
“During an international crisis it can be easy to lose the importance of art and creation, but these forms of expression have a long history in our culture and have an important place in our society.”-Sarissa Schwartz, SJS Group.

CALAMITY CHANG
Calamity Chang is one of the busiest burlesque performers and producers based in NYC with 2 longstanding weekly shows and 2 monthly shows; she also co-produces the world's only NEW YORK ASIAN BURLESQUE EXTRAVAGANZA with Jen Gapay.
Named by The Huffington Post as one of the "20 Burlesque Stars To Know" and by 21st Century Burlesque as one of the Top 100 Burlesque Performers in the world, Calamity has performed for numerous esteemed events such as Inked Magazine (Pinup Issue Release Party 2015), Design Industries Foundation for Fighting Aids NYC, and celebrities such as Brooke Shields and the cast of The Addams Family, Corey Miller of LA Ink, and guest-starred in Moby's metal band DiamondSnake ("Woman, Yea"). Calamity has also appeared in reality TV shows such as "Oddities" (Science Channel) and "My Big Redneck Vacation" (Country Music Television). You can also see her in the controversial NC-17 film of 2011 "Shame" by Steve McQueen starring Michael Fassbender as "Late Night Lover #1".
Calamity has a wide range of performance styles suitable for all kinds of events. She is just as comfortable being a glamorous showgirl teasing with feather fans and ostrich boas in classic showgirl-style acts as she is performing neo-burlesque acts clad in shiny latex and other fetish-inspired looks.
GIN MINSKY
For almost a decade, Gin Minsky has been known as NYC’s premiere tap and burlesque performer, event producer (Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governors Island, Champagne Riot, Webster Hall’s East Ville des Folies,) and go-to gal for all things Jazz Age. Classically trained in jazz, ballet, pointe, tap and modern, her performances include a varied spectrum of performative dance acts and are suitable for a wide range of venues from cabaret clubs to upscale concert halls.
Gin Minsky first hit the stage with taps on her feet at the tender age of five and has continued to dazzle and delight audiences across America. By blending skill, creativity, technique and charm, she has become known as one of the top tap and burlesque performers performing at notable venues including Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia Museum of Art, P.S. 122, Joe’s Pub, Iridium Jazz Club, McKittrick Hotel, Copacabana, Highline Ballroom and Webster Hall. A regular at NYC’s Dances of Vice, Gin has also been a featured performer at the NYC Food & Wine Festival, The Salon and the “Oscars of burlesque” the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend in Las Vegas, winning the award for “Most Classic” in 2017. Accomplished as a solo performer, Gin can also be found partnering with dance legend Roddy Caravella, the Champagne Riot’s Dandy Wellington, and as one half of the Minsky Sisters with Kristen Minsky.
Tapped into all things jazz, Gin has produced numerous Jazz Age inspired events. Gin is also the creator of the Champagne Riot – a vintage celebration that serves up an intoxicating cocktail of Hot Jazz, Scintillating Burlesque and Vaudvillian Frivolity – as well as talent producer for Webster Hall’s annual East Ville des Folies. Working on all aspects of event production, Gin can make sure your next event is buttoned up with tails out from pre-production to performance!
BECCA D’BUS
Becca D'Bus is Singapore’s biggest drag queen. Born at the age of 27 in Boston’s legendary Jacque’s Cabaret, Becca is currently the host and producer of RIOT!, Singapore’s only regular drag revue since 2015. Since then, RIOT! has also appeared at the Singapore Theatre Festival, the Singapore Night Festival and the Neon Lights Festival. Becca is producer and host of The Glory Hoes present at The Projector, a screening series of cult gay films where audiences are encouraged to misbehave and own their space. And from its birth, Becca has been resident at LuLu’s Lounge on Café Bizarre Saturdays, scandalizing guests and taking her clothes off. As a performer, Becca has created new works with TheatreWorks Singapore, The Theater Offensive, Teater Ekamatra, The Substation, Singapore International Festival of Arts, Singapore Writers’ Festival. Becca has never won a drag contest, finishing first runner up every time, though her career’s outlasted every performer who’s ever beaten her. Since her first contest, Becca’s performed at venues far and wide including The Bowery Poetry Club, Oberon, Hard Rock Café Singapore, Hamburger Mary’s, Palais de Tokyo, National Museum Singapore and the National Gallery Singapore.
Becca’s performance style has been described as ridiculous, outrageous and silly. She’s not one to disagree.
